pediatrics. police say the driver did remain at the scene. a pedestrian is in serious condition following an accident in west baltimore on wednesday night. police say an officer following two cars speeding, want loss control. so far no charges have been charged against either driver. >> there was a fire in north baltimore that burned through the night. jennifer franciotti is live with the latest details. good morning. >> it is hard to believe. things are so quiet last night. the re broke out here on sisson street. this is close to the jones falls expressway. the fire consumed a building that contains several atuo

repair shops. there was a partial collapse of the building. firefighters had to attack the fire from above. dozens of people were also evacuated including rosemary fitzsimmons. could only wonder if her place would be the next to go up in flames. >> when we oned the door to our apartment, it was solid smoke. the whole garage was full of smoke. >> what was that like? >> my dog ran back into the apartment because he was scared. it was pretty scary. we got out as fast as you can. >> this is a pretty solid brick building. combustiblesne the that caused the fire to burn for so many hours. nobody was seriously hurt. the cause of the fire still remains under investigation.

indictments were issued in the case. a woman says corruption in the baltimore city jail system is something new. somebody shot and killed marge shipley's son, carl lackl. an inmate allegedly ordered a hit on carl lackl because carl lackl was a witness in another case involving the inmate. >> they were heading out and calling patrick byers to say the hit was done. programials say a pilot that uses new technology has been in place since january at the former state penitentiary but not at the city jail. the governor is going to sign more loss into effect today.

it is not clear when the medical marijuana program will begin. state gas taxude increase. deliver herman will first state of the county address. she vetoed the state mandated storm water fee. the county council voted to override the veto. $34 a year will be paid as a fee. councilmembers' said the measure is important to the committee. neuman xecutive presented her school district spending plan to the council on

country. it feels like spring on the east. winter will not go away at the west. there is some snow out there from i walked into omaha and into the southern plains -- from iowa into omaha and into the southern plains. there's one thing to talk about. you can see a marine layer coming in from east to west, especially south and east of baltimore. if you have some clouds, it to take a couple of hours to burn those off. we are starting in the 40's. a little bit of a complication in the forecast. it will be a nice day.

here's the story. that information is coming from affidavits after the rest of azamat tazhayakov and dias kadyrbayev. a third man was also arrested. the fbi said the three decided to take it back back from tsarnaev's door room. it was filled with fireworks. investigators say one of the friends through the back og outt police were able to recover at a landfill. >> let's move onto north korea. water experts sent about sentencing an american to 15 years of hard labor? be usedsentencing may as a bargaining chip to try to get north korea into discussions

with the u.s. a man is described as a tour operator from washington state. his sentencing for hostile acts against the state comes in the middle of rising tension in the region. north korea has issued multiple warnings of nuclear war. he was based in china near the border. would travel into north korea to deliver food. >> hallie jackson, thank you. it was a long night for police in seattle. police had to use tear gas after protesters were throwing rocks at them. 18 people were arrested. a bank officers were hurt during officersest -- eight

forcould see the smoke miles as if a hazy cloud was stuck over the j.f.x. for hours on wednesday night. at ground level on sisson street, all that smoke was coming from flames that had been burning since 6:30 p.m. on wednesday. oil and gasoline inside were not helping the situation. >> these types of businesses have a material that will help fuel the fire. it is making it difficult for us. >> at one point there was a partial collapse of the building. firefighters were ordered out and had to attack the flames from above. meanwhile, dozens of people were also affected. evacuated. rosemary could only watch and wonder if her place would be the next to go up in flames. >> when we opened the door to our apartment, it was solid smoke. the whole garage was full of smoke. we just got out.

>> this is a wbal-tv 11 editorial with president and general manager dan joerres. >> he was known to fans as "zillbilly" for 17 years as he entertained baltimore orioles fans and was a fixture at oriole park. charlie zill passed away, but left great memories for millions of fans who sang along with him during his seventh- inning-stretch performance. he took john denver's "thank god i'm a country boy" to a whole new level, wearing his straw hat and overalls as he danced while twirling his orange fiddle. he even bought an orange fiddle for the oriole bird and they created a duet that delighted camden yards crowds. charlie was a big orioles fan and always wanted to work for the team. he got a chance in 1996 as an usher, and quickly became a fan favorite. he did magic tricks between innings, pitching changes, and during rain delays. even after his cancer diagnosis, charlie was determined to work as long as he could and use his positive attitude to inspire others.
